Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst at United States Air Force summary: As an Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst, you will translate and analyze intelligence communications intercepted during flight operations. Your expertise in foreign languages is critical for providing actionable intelligence and threat warnings that enhance mission planning and ensure the safety of Airmen. This role requires a combination of linguistic proficiency, military training, and adherence to specific qualifications set by the Air Force. TRANSLATING IN THE AIR When we receive or intercept data in the air, it's critical for us to understand it in order to act accordingly. Responsible for translating intelligence communications, Airborne Cryptologic Language Analysts utilize fluent foreign language skills to analyze messages obtained during flight. Providing threat warnings and actionable intelligence that can assist in mission planning, these highly skilled specialists are critical to keeping our missions successful and our Airmen safe. REQUIREMENTS You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.Minimum Education You must be 17–42 years of age, a U.S. citizen and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score. High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year. Applicants who are non-graduates or non-alternate credential holders must obtain an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB. ASVAB SCORE REQUIREMENTS 72 General (G) Qualifications A minimum score of 62 on the Predictive Success Model. No record history of temporomandibular joint pain or disorder Height no less than 59 inches and no more than 80 inches Successful completion of a polygraph test Completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Demonstrated proficiency in a designated language, or successful graduation of the Defense Language Institute in a designated language Completion of Aircrew Fundamentals Course, Airborne Cryptologic Linguist Course, and designated Survival Schools Completion of Initial Qualification Training with a valid aviation qualification Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training Must be at least 17, but has not reached age 42 on the date of enlistment Keywords: Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst, intelligence communications, foreign language skills, threat warnings, military training, mission planning, Air Force, cryptology, linguistics, defense
