Position Summary: The Director of Manufacturing is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of Manufacturing Operations, the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, and Facilities Maintenance. This position reports directly to the President/CEO and plays a vital role in achieving organizational goals by ensuring operational excellence and compliance across all enterprise functions.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Directs and oversees the daily operations of the Manufacturing Division to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability.
  • Works collaboratively with the Plant Manager, Sales & Marketing, and Business Development teams to ensure product realization and timely contract fulfillment.
  • Drives performance through metrics-based management and continuous improvement initiatives.

ISO 9001 Quality Management

  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System across all enterprise operations.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external audits, driving corrective actions and continuous quality improvements.
  • Champions a culture of quality and operational discipline throughout the division.

Facilities & Asset Management

  • Develops and leads the execution of an annual facilities maintenance plan, including preventive maintenance, capital improvements, safety protocols, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensures facilities are operational, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational needs.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develops and monitors budgets for the Enterprise Division, aligning resource allocation with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates with the Controller and senior leadership to ensure fiscal responsibility, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Organizational Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serves as a core member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and cross-functional integration.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, Business Development, and other leaders to support hiring, training, performance management, and compliance within operational teams.
  • Represents the Enterprise Division in leadership forums, board presentations, and strategic initiatives.

Other

  • Presents at the regular meetings of the Board of Directors
  • Other duties as assigned by the President/CEO

Qualifications


Qualifications (Minimum education, experience, training, licensure, certification):

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, plant operations, or enterprise operations management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing ISO 9001 or other quality systems.
  • Proven experience in facilities management and preventive maintenance planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational process improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and resource management experience.
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to represent the organization internally and externally.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professional presence.
