Outdoor Recreation Facility Position

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility. Responsibilities include performing and/or assisting in the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include testing water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrating safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas; demonstrating equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; setting up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities; inspecting outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and scheduling campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned; ability and skill in dealing with the public. Education does not substitute for experience for this position. Foreign education may be used to meet the requirements if proof of equivalence is provided. Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement are eligible. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
