Description
Helpers will assist with constructing, fabricating, installing and dismantling form work of fixtures of metal, wood and other accessories. Helpers must be willing to learn from others. Must understand and potentially learn to identify and avoid all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
Assist specialty crew with preparing the layout of the project.
Selects, loads, and hauls job material to different areas in work site
Identify all tools required for tasks
Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site
Provide support as needed for specialty crew
Assist in the measurement, marking, and cutting
Assist in positioning, joining, aligning, and sealing structural components
Manages own time effectively, ensuring maximum amount of productivity
Abide to all safety policies
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules
Performing other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Must have 1 year of experience working in construction as a helper
Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull
Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment
Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses
Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates
Ability to use respirators or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrations for extended periods of time
Ability to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment
COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
